Thursday 11th January 1883
Discussion at BMA on alteration of constitution of Com. of Council. Gamgee and Sawyer the principle reformers. Dined at Dr Foster’s with a lot of medicos. Sat between Russell and Boddington. Dr Joy, Dr Mackenzie of Rugby, Foster and I afterwards played a rubber so that I had not to sit more than an hour waiting for Walter to come from his first evening party at Shepherds[?].
